Ted Zourntos is a practicing painter and has exhibited his work both locally and internationally. He has received numerous awards for his work including the Gilroy Roberts tuition scholarship from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts as well as a Fellowship grant from the Museum of American Art. His current work appropriates hybrid-painting practices to explore the nature of interface, focusing primarily on the connection, interaction and co-habitation of opposing elements within varied painting philosophies. As a professor at Sheridan his interests center around helping students develop keen drawing and painting instincts through a solid traditional experience. In more advanced courses he helps students learn to trust those instincts when the focus becomes experimentation and the development of a more personal artistic vision.
