Gillian Iles is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art Design (’97). She exhibits locally and internationally in commercial and artist-run galleries and is the founding member of two cooperative galleries in Toronto (Propeller Gallery and Loop). Gillian has served on the admissions jury and has judged for the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. She has been guest lecturer at various venues including McMaster University and the Don Valley Arts Club. In the past she has taught adults drawing and painting at Artworks Art School (Toronto). Currently she is teaching post-secondary courses at Sheridan College (Oakville) and Toronto School of Art (Toronto) and is conducting private group painting workshops.
At Sheridan she teaches 2nd and 3rd year Drawing and Painting in the Illustration Program. At Toronto School of Art she teaches Life Drawing, Studio Figure Painting, Youth Studio (drawing and painting), has been Faculty Advisor to Independent Studies students (’04,’05) and is a member of the Faculty Steering Committee.
