Dutch artist/designer and founder of KesselsKramer in Amsterdam, Erik Kessels, spoke to our Illustration students yesterday.
Erik is an art director, writer, photographer, (he worked as an illustrator when he first graduated from College) and artist. His work cuts across and explodes the divide between art and advertising . He has collaborated on art projects with Marlene Dumas and Ryuichi Sakamoto and directed the worldwide Diesel campaign.
KesselsKramer’s website is kesselskramer.com and their past 10 years of work is compiled in the recently published book – ‘2 Kilos’ – which is available at Swipe Books. Erik will be speaking at the Design Thinkers Conference in Toronto this week.
This is unfortunately the best photo I’ve got – I was in the middle of presentations with first year students and ran up to the mezzanine to catch little bits here and there.
